# DML Statements

> This section describes the SQL++ for Enterprise Analytics Data Manipulation Language (DML) statements you use to query and manipulate data in collections. 

You use [SELECT Statements](3%5Fquery.md) to query your Enterprise Analytics collections. You use [DESCRIBE LINK Statements](5%5Fdml%5Fdescribe.md) to get information about remote and external links.

You use the following statements to populate and update standalone collections:

You use the following statement to write data out to an external store such as Amazon S3:
