master-password

Sets and sends the master password.

Syntax

The basic syntax is:

ccouchbase-cli master-password -c [host]:8091 -u [admin] -p [password] [options]

Description

The master-password command sets and sends the master password.

Options

The following are the command options:

Option Description

--new-password

Prompts user for a new master password on this node.

--rotate-data-key

Rotates the data key.

--send-password

Prompts for the master password to start the server.

Examples

To change the master password:

couchbase-cli master-password -c 192.168.0.1:8091 -u Administrator -p password --new-password

To rotate the data key:

couchbase-cli master-password -c 192.168.0.1:8091 -u Administrator -p password --rotate-data-key

To send the master password:

couchbase-cli master-password -c 192.168.0.1:8091 -u Administrator -p password --send-password
